Jonathan Condoles With Sambo Over His Brother's Tragic Death
Country leader Goodluck Jonathan and First Lady Dame Patience condoled with Vice President Namadi Sambo, who yesterday lost his brother Capt Yusuf Sabo Sambo, in a dire accident.
The aggrieved Vice President returned to Nigeria yesterday and immediately headed to the National Mosque for the funeral service held in honour of his younger brother Yusuf, who tragically passed at the age of 58 on the way to the airport, The Nation reports.
Mourning President Jonathan said:
"We are all mere mortals. All of us are from the earth, we must all go back to the earth. We do not know the timing of this journey all of us must make. This world is a place where we come to play our different roles. He left too early. Maybe he left when the ovation is loudest. He left at a time we needed him most. But there is nothing we can do."
In response to the president's speech Namadi Sambo thanked Jonathan and the administration officials who attended the service for condoling with their family.
